Everything you need to know about our brand-new website

Over the past year, our teams have been working hard to create a brand-new website that makes the content you love easier to find and use, while also helping support our future ambitions as a charity.

Why have we updated the website?

While our old website served us well, we listened to feedback from users that our website needed updating. You told us we needed to improve the design and layout of our website and make it easier to use and navigate. Therefore, we’ve put our users at the heart of our designs, using an evidence-based approach to create a website which offers you the best visitor experience.

As part of our new organisational strategy that launched in 2023, we want to grow and reach more people digitally. This means our website is crucial in helping us to inspire a global community and continue to improve the lives of donkeys every day.

What can I find on the new website?

From your favourite adoptions donkeys and live webcams to our donkey care resources, training courses and latest news stories, all your favourite pages are still here but they’ve been refreshed with improved visual designs and clearer navigation to make accessing and engaging with content much better.

What changes have we made?

At first glance, you’ll notice a lighter and brighter website. Our updated look and feel allows us to better create the content that matters to you and helps us to continue to inform, educate and inspire our community.

Alongside our new designs, you’ll enjoy a much smoother website experience, enabling you to find the pages much easier than before. Also, you’ll see improvements to our checkout process and a brand-new resource hub for owners and professionals.

Can I still access The Donkey Sanctuary online shop?

Yes, you can still access our online shop as normal. You’ll notice our online shop has also had a refresh, which will improve your experience when shopping with us, this includes better search ability, easier navigation and a smoother checkout process. Buying from our online shop is a great way to support the work of The Donkey Sanctuary, with every product sold helping to raise funds for donkeys.
