The Donkey Sanctuary launches the Nepal One Welfare Fund

The Donkey Sanctuary recognizes that the well-being of working equines is closely tied to the welfare of the people who depend on them and the environments in which they work. As a result, this new funding initiative encourages the adoption of a ‘One Welfare’ approach to working practices in Nepal.

Groups of organisations are invited to submit project proposals to improve the welfare of donkeys and mules in Nepal, the lives of people who depend on them and encourage environmental conservation.

Successful applicants will join The Donkey Sanctuary to co-design and implement a 24-month, One Welfare project in Nepal.

The Donkey Sanctuary is committed to improving the lives of donkeys and mules worldwide. The One Welfare project will aim to create sustainable positive change at a local level, addressing the interconnecting issues between animal welfare, human wellbeing and their physical and social environment.
