Course details

The aim of this course is to share the fundamentals of donkey behaviour which influence the handling and veterinary care of this species. The course covers the evolution of the donkey, how this has influenced behavioural signs of fear and pain and how a donkey’s pain can be quantitatively assessed. Handling principles, techniques and pharmacological interventions are discussed to make veterinary visits calmer for the donkey and safer for the professionals working with them.
