Our visitor centre shop accepts and sells a range of hand crafted, knitted and crocheted items including blankets and dog coats.

Heart-felt creations
Have fun making beautiful felt donkeys to help us care for donkeys and mules all over the world. Why not fill them with lavender for a fresh summer scent. These lovely little donkeys look great hanging everywhere from a Christmas tree to a car as an air freshener.
Once you’ve created your little felt donkeys, either sell them to friends and family and send in the proceeds to us or simply post them to us, for us to sell in our visitor centre shop. If you choose to post you felt donkeys to us, please address them to Community Team, The Donkey Sanctuary, Slade House Farm, Sidmouth, Devon EX10 0NU.

If you’d like to make a Woolley – our famous knitted donkey beloved by so many, please request a pattern, which is available to download using the form below.
Neddy
If you are an experienced crocheter, why not try creating a Neddy with love. Please request a pattern, which is available to download using the form below.
Sadly, we can’t sell home-crafted knitted toys, which includes Woolley and Neddy, in our shop (as toys must pass certain regulations). So, we ask supporters making a Woolley or Neddy to please sell them and donate the proceeds, so that donkeys can benefit from your crafting. We’d also love to see a photo of them!
If you have any animal-loving friends, perhaps they would like to make a donation in return for keeping one of your creations. Alternatively, if you have an eBay account, please sell your knitted animals and nominate The Donkey Sanctuary to receive the benefit. Thank you for your support.
