Do you think trimming donkey’s feet is the same as trimming horse’s feet? Would you use the same farriery remedies to treat feet pathologies? Do you think the same shoes can be applied in the same way in donkeys and horses?

Sharing the different techniques used in donkey farriery from The Donkey Sanctuary farriers and veterinary surgeons will help you understand the different mechanics of the donkey foot and why we need to do some things in a different way than in horses. This course will provide you with valuable information for trimming donkey feet and applying orthopaedic treatments in donkey feet.

This course will provide you with valuable information for trimming donkey feet and applying orthopaedic treatments to donkey feet through sharing the different techniques used by The Donkey Sanctuary farriers and veterinary surgeons.

By the end of the Hoof Trimming and Farriery course, you will be able to assess a donkey foot and describe if it is a healthy hoof or there is any chronic or acute disease/abnormality. In addition, you will be able to determine if a donkey hoof has been trimmed appropriately and choose the trimming and farriery techniques needed when a disease donkey foot is presented to you.
