Course details
This course aims to assist practitioners in their ability to safely anaesthetise and castrate a donkey, either in the field or in the theatre. The modules are illustrated by videos taken at the Donkey Sanctuary hospital and describe the techniques and equipment required.
The course is not a substitute for practical experience, and the more specialist surgery via inguinal and laparoscopic route are not described in detail. Recognising and treating complications is an important skill that is addressed.
