DIY collar

Course code: WRKE107

Introduction

Introduction

This course focuses in on the step-by-step process of manufacturing a collar for donkeys and mules.

The collar we present in this course is the result of an extensive research project developed by the Research and Operational Support Department of The Donkey Sanctuary, where different types of collars were tested. This specific collar was developed by the harness team involved in the project, using simple and affordable local materials, and following a simple construction method.

Such parameters are of paramount importance considering many of the places where working equids are present and important.

Free online course. Open to all. Self-paced.

Course details

This course gathers all that scientific knowledge and present it in a easy-to-understand way, based on practical videos where, step by step, all the manufacturing process is explained in detail, so you can build your own collar.

Throughout a series of eleven modules, organised in a methodical and systematic way, every aspect of the manufacturing process will be covered.

At the end of this course, we hope that you’ll be able to learn all steps of the manufacturing process and that you build your own collar, regardless if you are a user or someone who works in the welfare sector and you’ll advise other users about collars.
